Events!

On Wednesday, September 8 (the first day of classes), the UESA will be holding a handful of events all day long for new English students. You can come to as many or as few of these events as you like, you can show up late if you need to, and you do not have to be participating in 101 week to come. The day's schedule is as follows:

10:30 am - ? -- Meet & Greet breakfast with Professors (Room 301 of the Arts Building)

Come have pancakes and other breakfast foods while meeting some of your new professors and hearing them talk a bit about what being an English student is like. This is also a good time to meet members of the UESA and hear about what the English department at U of O is like from a student perspective.

2:30 pm - 4pm -- How to Make Sushi in Cafe Alt (basement of Simard Building)

Come learn how to make sushi from members of the UESA. You can eat the sushi you make too so it's a good deal all around. You can make vegetarian sushi as well.

4pm - ? -- Games (in front of Simard Building)

We will be playing fun ice breaker-type games and getting to know each other.

7pm-10pm -- Artistic Performances (Planet Coffee in the Byward Market)

Along with other departments in the Faculty of Arts, English students will get to witness some pretty sweet creative performances (poets, artists, musicians, etc.). We will be leaving at about 6:30pm from Arts court (between Arts and Simard buildings).

If you have any questions about these events (or anything else), please email Jacquie Watkins (social1.uesa@artsuottawa.ca) or Michaela Posthumus (social2.uesa@artsuottawa.ca).
